Mauhauhauhauhau

The game isn't really a nomic. Infact, it isn't a nomic in any way. The rule remains fixed, and the rule isn't a secret. However, the game feels like a nomic (at least to me) and it gets a page. Yes, I am evil. And Yes, I just lost.

  • The rules: How do play the game?
    • From now on, you are always playing the game.
    • If you remember that you are playing the game, you must declare "I Lost" to the whole world.
  • The origins: How did the game originiate?
    • Because of its meme-like nature, tracing the true origins of the game is very hard. I do not know who came up with the idea.
    • I first learned about it in the summer of 2003 at Canada/USA Mathcamp.
    • It is clearly much more popular know, as many people are now either aware of the concept or actively play the game.
  • Losing Strategy: Many people play the game to lose. Here are a few tips if you are one of those players.
    • Put reminder all over the place. On your book bag, on your hand, on your locker. The more places the better.
    • Get your friends to play the game. That way when they lose, you will lose.
    • Associate a common action(like checking the time) with the game so that whenever you do that action--you lose.
    • Don't be afraid to announce that you lost to the world. That will get others thinking about the game and might help out.
  • Non-losing Strategy: On the other hand. Here are some tips for avoiding remembering the game:
    • Avoid other people who you know are playing the game.
    • When you lose, announce it quietly so that no one else will think about the game.
    • Go through therepy so that you forget that the game ever existed.
  • Variations: There are many different versions of the game
    • Same rules, except that if you say the word "Moo" and then remember the game, you win.
    • Same rules, except you get to say "I win" insead of "I lost" when you remember the game.
    • Same rules, except that only the first person in the room to lose loses.
    • Same rules, except your variation here.
  • Did you know?
    • Wikipedia once has an article on The Game. But, despite withstanding appeals for removal like a half-dosen times some insane group of wikipedians finally got it removed. Despite the fact that millions of people play the game(try it. Say 'I lost' in any large group of people and at least one person will either lose or hate you for playing 'that stupid game'), wikipedia has nothing on it. Wikipedia won't even allow a line about the game on The Game(disambiguation) page. And yet 'Wikipedia is not censored'. I may have lost the game, but Wikipedia has lost at life.
    • I once lost the game in front of a large room full of people. We were doing this contest, and I didn't know the answer so I just said 'I lost'. Everyone cheered. Infact, they cheered more for me than for the people who actually won. And yet the game isn't notable. A pox on you and your children, Wikipedia.
  • Didn't Randall Munroe End the Game?
    • Randall Munore has already proven, to while at times be Hilariously Funny, at other times Mentally Unstable (Bananas are way tastier and way easier).
    • It doesn't matter what someone famous says, you cannot win the game. You cannot stop playing the game. Wikipedia will not stop failing at liife.
