Nomicville - 1000 Blank White Cards
1000 Blank White Cards is another classic nomic-like game, similiar to dvorak. The game begins with a blank deck of cards, and players first fill the deck with content before starting the game. Anything goes when creating these cards, allowing not only for classic nomic rule changing, but also ensuring you'll never play the same game twice.
- Building the Deck: 1000 BWC requires a deck of cards. And this isn't always as easy at it sounds.
- To play, you need a deck of either blank card, pre made cards, or a combination of both. Try to get at least 15-25 per player.
- If the cards are blank, they should be turned into non-blank cards. Cards can be anything, but here are some suggestions
- Blank Cards: These cards stay blank and turn into real cards during the course of the game. A good game should have 10-25% of the starting cards blank.
- Value Cards: These cards award or take away points, which are a key part of the game.(the goal of the game is always to get the most points)
- Action Cards: These cards make some action take place. It could be "lose a turn" or "skip the next player" or even "speak in pig latin for the next round"
- Deflection Cards: These cards are like actions, but affect other cards. They can be used to cancel the result of played cards.
- Object Cards: These cards generally do not do anything at first, but instead are trigger by later cards.
- Combination Cards: These cards are combinations of other types of cards. Like "Lose a turn but gain 500 points".
- Other Cards: Remember cards can do whatever you want them to. That is why 1000 BWC is a nomic.
- When the deck is ready, all of the cards (including blanks) are shuffled together and each player is dealt five cards. The remainder of the deck is placed in the centre of the table, and the real fun begins!
- Playing the Game: 1000 BWC wouldn't be a game without the ability to actually play it
- Game starts to the left of a pre-determined dealer, going counter-clockwise.
- On a player's turn, e draws a card and plays a card, either on eimself, another player, or ALL the players; following the rules of the card to the letter.
- If two cards contradict eachother, the more recently card played triumphs.
- When a player gets a blank card, e can turn it into another card.
- Cards are then either discarded, or remain in front of the targeted player depending on the card.
- The game ends when the last card is drawn from the draw pile.
- The winner is the person who got the most points during the game.
- Players now talk about the cards played, save the good ones for future use and eat the bad ones.
- Variations: Like any game with few rules, 1000 BWC has several variations on even these rules.
- Players draw *after* their turn, and draw up to five cards(so that they have five in their hand).
- Players keep all cards played on them infront of them.
- Players play until all cards have been played--not drawn.
- Players start with X cards in their hand, not 5.
- Your Variation Here.
These little messages are fun. They will tell you nothing about nomics though. Look up for that.
